The Stadium Experience:

Byrd Stadium – College Park, MD. I was ready for this trip! Opening weekend ALWAYS gets me going. The long 6+ hour drive to College Park was easy from upstate New York with my head in the clouds about the start of the college football season. Parking was a decent walk to and from the stadium. You could pre-pay for parking which was nice, and at only $17 not pricey. – 8. Terp Town was a sizeable, and the crowd seemed appreciative. It was very enjoyable with lots of things to do doing pre-game. – 8. The fans that I sat near were energized and excited about their Terps. I did some research on why U of M’s mascot looks like a turtle, but is called a terrapin. It was interesting stuff, if you like that sort of thing - lots of fun facts. - 7. Many thanks to Annie Kennedy, who worked with me to get the pictures that I wanted. The band’s pre-game march around campus and to the stadium was not like anything I had ever seen. It was a treat. Each section had their own cheer as they strode on by. It was fun and entertaining. – 7. Concessions were average priced with your typical selections. I like the souvenir cup. It is a nice addition to my collection. – 6. This visit to College Park was really enjoyable. – 36.
