The Stadium Experience:

Pittsburgh, PA - Steeler Country I had heard that the fans of Pittsburgh were diehard rabid people who braved every kind of weather to cheer on their local teams. Being from NY, I am accustomed to this crazed attitude, and on this cold Friday after Thanksgiving several people chose to pass the Black Friday savings and spend it in Heinz Field. Parking isn't difficult to find, but finding it at the stadium simply isn't going to happen unless you are a season ticket holder. However, I was able to get within a mile and pay only $25. Not fabu, but not terrible - 6. Pre-game is DEFINITELY where it's at! The band game a great concert in front of the stadium. They have a place called Stage AE, which is a short walk from the stadium, where they have nice acts and a place to snack up, drink up, and on this day warm up. I don't know who else they had perform there for the pre-game, but Cassidy Pope was in attendance while we were there. They aren't bringing in small potatoes it seems. Fanfare gets a solid 8 from me. I enjoyed everything pre-game, and Heinz Field was impressive. Having been a Steel Curtain fan as a young child until I fell in love with the Red Team, seeing lockers dedicated to Lynn Swann, Franco Harris, Joe Green, Jack Lambert, and Chuck Noll was humbling and exciting. The views from Heinz Field as just as awe inspiring. I would love to visit Heinz Field again - even if it was for soccer just to take it all in again - 9. Concessions were well placed for a pro stadium - 7. The fans were into the game. They were friendly and helpful. People told me about Pittsburgh, and foods I should try while in town, places I should visit, etc. - 9. Pitt was AWESOME, and rides high with a 39. Short drive back to Morgantown for tomorrow's game.
