The Stadium Experience:

Albany, NY - Home of the Great Danes. Getting ready to go to a football game that is 15 minutes from my home has a VERY nice appeal. I could get used to this on an annual basis. :) Parking near the stadium was expensive for Albany at $20, and the lot wasn't very big. Being a local, we nabbed a parking spot on nearby on campus and strolled over to the stadium. Proximity, ease of departure, and cost makes this parking experience an 8. I wasn't expecting much fanfare and hoopla at a small FCS venue, but there was a lot of energy. The band's pre-game march thru the parking lot added to it. We walked along with them, snapped a few pics (many thanks to Kevin Champagne), and rolled into the stadium hyped! Not much fanfare, but what was there was exciting - 7. Bob Ford Field sits on a nice campus surrounded by major Albany roadways. Yet it is far enough away that you can't see or hear traffic. It feels suburban in a city setting. Although not much to 'see', it was quaint and comfortable. I give this a 7. Concessions were average. Prices weren't incredibly high, although when I told some co-workers about the costs they had sticker shock. I guess after SDSU and a damn $11 soda nothing gets to me. ;) - 6. Albany was a great time. I would definitely do this again. One game a year out of my schedule to stay near home and still enjoy a quality fan experience - 9. Albany nets a big 37! Short drive to New Haven for The Game (Harvard-Yale) next week.
